How Everyblock Got Its Groove Back

Comcast wasn’t satisfied with the number of users on EveryBlock.com, the corporation’s fledgling online community for real-life neighborhoods. Mauge created a membership drive using cheeky humor and lively artwork, and executed where neighbors organically meet: CTA trains and farmers markets. A well-placed ad leads to a unique landing page leads to on-the-spot sign-up. The client’s benchmark was a 10% increase in users. The first week of our campaign saw EveryBlock’s mobile traffic exceed those expectations.

The Millennial and the Apartment Market

A first-time apartment for first-time big-city transplants, with all the amenities and luxuries positioned to feel like home. The first of a planned national rollout, Kenect Chicago was proof of concept of the benefits of more community space in apartment living. Before the site's abandoned warehouse was demolished to make way, local artists tagged the building to commemorate the event and foster interest in Kenect.

The proprietors of what would become Kibbitznest: Books, Brews & Blarney approached Mauge in the middle of their own quest: What do we lose when people stop talking face-to-face? What happens if we stop having those big idea, collegial, liberal arts conversations? And if we build a space, would anybody show up? Three years later, the Nest continues to grow and receive accolades from around the city for its "no wifi" approach to creating a welcoming space with ample seating, rows and rows of books, amazing coffee and cocktails, and plenty of room to connect.
